My name is Ari.
I'm a strategist and sociologist interested in the relationship between people and objects.
My work explores society and culture through the lens of fashion and luxury, a space at the intersection of the material, the social, and the symbolic.
Currently, I'm an in-House strategist at Louis Vuitton. My role involves identifying, analyzing, and activating the forces shaping the market today and in the years to come. All ideas here are, of course, my own.
I've worked closely with designers and marketers for over a decade. My career began in research, looking at the social affordances of physical garments in online spaces and building a framework for reading photographed and digital clothing as ontologically distinct, digitally material objects.
In 2021, I joined The Salmon Consulting (Havas), a firm specializing in applied foresight, where I helped develop a luxury practice and accompanied Maisons on missions ranging from VIC strategy and Haute Couture positioning to secondary market and circularity initiatives.
In addition, I've had the pleasure of teaching at CELSA, Sorbonne Business School, and Paris School of Luxury, and have been honored to serve on the luxury design graduate jury of ESMOD.
You can find my work featured in Beyond Luxury, Dao Insights, and Magazine Singulier.
I conducted doctoral research in Consumer Culture Theory at the Sorbonne from 2020 - 2022, following consecutive Masters in Communications and Organizational Theory from the Sorbonne Business School, and I hold a BA in International Studies from Fordham University at Lincoln Center.
I've lived Paris since 2015, and am a proud Buffalo, New York native.
I enjoy really, really, really long walks.
