My name is Ari.
I look at how people and objects interact to shape life as we know it. I’m an expert in luxury and fashion, a world at the crossroads of the material, the social, and the symbolic.
During undergrad, I was interning for a couture designer, producing independent research on luxury clients in China, and spent all my free time hanging out on menswear forums.
To be honest, not much has changed.
As a researcher, I analyzed the social affordances of physical garments in online spaces and developed a lens for reading photographed and virtual clothing as distinct, “digitally material” objects. This allows us to understand how we engage with digital luxury products, from Instagram photos to NFTs.
In 2021, I joined a consulting firm within France’s largest media group, using applied foresight to resolve strategic marketing, growth, and innovation challenges. I helped develop the firm’s luxury practice, which includes the industry's leading actors.
Currently, I’m an in-House strategist at one of the world’s largest luxury brands, where I work to anticipate and activate the trends that will shape our world in the years to come.
I'm a proud Buffalo, New York native and did my undergrad at the Fordham College at Lincoln Center, in Manhattan. I've lived in Paris since 2015.
I hold a Master's in Brand Management and Communication from the Sorbonne, as well as an accelerated Master's in Organizational Research and Theories. I conducted doctoral research in Consumer Culture Theory at the Sorbonne from 2020 - 2022.
In addition to research, consulting, and strategy, I’ve also had the pleasure of teaching at the CELSA, Sorbonne Business School, and Paris School of Luxury.
I enjoy really, really, really long walks.
